Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups gluten-free flour mix
- 2/3 cup of cocoa powder
- 3/4 Cup of sugar
- 3 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/2 Cup + 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1 3/4 Cup + 2 tablespoons of warm water
Method of preparation
- Mix all the ingredients and stir until it becomes a homogeneous mass
- Use a microwave-safe container. Depending on which one to choose, don't even need to grease
- Place do not microwave for 5 minutes
- When it has passed 3 minutes, of a pause and take it out of the microwave to see how it’s getting. It is important to do this because each device has a different power, sometimes with three minutes, the recipe is already overcooked and only more to go 1 minute or 1min30.
- If it is still very soft, leave it for the rest of the time.
- If after 5 minutes is still soft, let more 1 minute.
How was my experience making the microwave chocolate cake?
The original recipe is made with wheat flour, but I liked the ease so much that I tried to make it in the gluten-free version.
I tested the recipe twice, because the first time didn’t work. I put a smaller amount of cocoa than the recipe asked for because I think cocoa is too strong and I was afraid of getting too bitter. I also put it in a very large round glass container. I don't know which of the steps made the recipe go wrong, but it was super squishy and soft, never reached the point of cake, this is what I left 10 minutes not micro.
Second time, I used the right amount of cocoa and put it in a smaller, taller container, of plastic – it's a very old microwave pot from my mother.
Really the dough was a little bitter, so to make up for it i made a melted milk chocolate icing mixed with sour cream that was really sweet.
