Well, who cannot consume lactose or milk, you know how difficult it is to find delicious milk at an affordable price. So I decided to learn how to make some milk that I liked and this homemade oat milk was the best.
The gluten-free oatmeal package here in my city (SJC – SP) it costs on average R$8.00 and you can make more than one recipe for this milk, so for me it pays a lot to do the homemade.
The ingredients we will need are:
- 1 cup of gluten free oats
- 500ml of water to hydrate
- 500ml of water to blend in the blender

- In a bowl, add the gluten free oats and 500 ml of water. let it hydrate for 30/40 minutes or more (until the water dries up);
- Blend the hydrated oatmeal with more 500 ml of water;
- When it's all liquid, prepare another bowl with the cloth to strain;
- Gradually pour the liquid into the cloth and squeeze well., dropping the strained milk into the bowl;

- Store the milk in a bottle and leave it in the fridge for a maximum of 3 days.
Homemade oat milk has a slightly gooey texture., so add more water when consuming if it bothers you. When using recipes it is perfect, you don't need to change anything.
This is a gluten free and dairy free recipe and it's still pure milk, without preservatives and additives. For those who cannot consume calcium, this is a great milk substitute option.
